Demonstrating a penchant for bad judgment, duplicity, and ignorance, Sheldon Adelson is doubling down on his dark brand of “logic” and fighting the effort to legalize marijuana from Nevada to Massachusetts.

According to the Boston Globe, Sheldon Adelson is betting another massive pile of cash that he and his cohorts can persuade voters in Massachusetts to reject the long-overdue legalization of marijuana in the Codfish State. Officially donating $1 million to help defeat the ballot initiative to legalize recreational marijuana consumption in Massachusetts, Sheldon has been on a roll as of late.

Benefiting the coffers of the anti-legalization group ‘Campaign for a Safe and Healthy Massachusetts,’ spokesperson Jim Conroy expressed his appreciation for the Las Vegas gambling tycoon’s donation.

“We are grateful for the support of Mr. Adelson, a Massachusetts native, who with his wife Dr. Miriam has been a long-time anti-addiction advocate.”

Thankfully, medicinal cannabis has already been legalized in the state of Massachusetts. Should Massachusetts voters approve ‘Question 4’ on November 8th, its passage would legalize the adult recreational consumption of marijuana and would generate a State Recreational Marijuana Commission to regulate all aspects of recreational pot in Massachusetts.

By voting for legalization, citizens of Massachusetts over the age of 21 would be allowed to consume it, cultivate it, and possess up to 1 ounce for personal consumption. Question 4 also specifies that adults over the age of 21 can legally possess up to ten ounces of marijuana in their private residence and can cultivate up to six mature marijuana plants in the privacy of their backyards.

Provided the voters of Massachusetts ignore the hypocrisy spewed from the Las Vegas King of vice, and legalize recreational marijuana on November 8, residents will be able to purchase pot legally as early as January 1, 2018.
