Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart may not have very much in common at first glance, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find the two are quickly becoming the best of buds. Thankfully, somebody recognized the chemistry and gave them their very own show.
Yes, that’s right, Snoop and Martha Stewart are going to co-host a brand new show on VH1 called Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party. The show will consist of Martha and Snoop hosting, you guessed it, dinner parties! The show will be a part of VH1’s fall lineup and feature cooking segments (fingers crossed for medicated recipes) and lots of celebrity dinner guests. We’re putting our money on there being some smoking segments, too.
“At our dinner party, we will exemplify America’s fascination with food, entertaining and celebrity,” said Stewart. “Martha & Snoop’s Dinner Party will redesign the traditional food competition shows in a new, different and very funny way.”
“My homegirl Martha and I have a special bond that goes back,” Snoop added. “We’re gonna be cooking, drinking and having a good time with our exclusive friends. Can’t wait for you to see how we roll together!”
Martha and Snoop’s unlikely partnership goes all the way back to 2008 when the Stewart taught the Doggfather how to peel the “skizzin” off the potato.
However, the relationship started to blossom in 2015, when both were tapped to hurl insults at Justin Bieber for his Comedy Central Roast. The television personality and rap legend were brought together by the common goal of trashing Canada’s biggest export, and there was no looking back. Stewart, when speaking about the dynamic duo’s first encounter, said Snoop got her seriously secondhand baked. Stewart told late night talk show host Seth Meyers in an interview, “The secondary smoke is just as powerful, so I was totally high by the time I got up to that microphone.”
From there, Snoop appeared on Martha’s talk show again, where he complained that Martha’s brownies weren’t “green” enough. We couldn’t agree more, Snoop.
Snoop’s IMDB has been poppin’ lately, as he also announced his involvement in a new scripted show for MTV called Mary + Jane. Snoop will executive produce and make cameo appearances in the new comedy about two entrepreneurial weed dealers with a brand new delivery app. If you can’t wait for Fall, you can alway catch Snoop hosting his web series GGN on YouTube or in person on The High Road Tour with Wiz Khalifa.
