Delaware Candidate for Gov. Supports Legalization – On Thursday afternoon in The Small Wonder State, Sen. Colin Bonini made it clear he had no problem with adults smoking pot in the privacy of their own home, claiming that he was strongly in favor of legalizing recreational marijuana consumption for Delaware’s residence. Sen. Bonini is the first gubernatorial candidate from the GOP to do so for the 2016 race. The Dover Republican voiced his opinion on the Senate floor yesterday, and when questioned by a fellow Democratic Senator if he would co-author legislation to that end, the Republican candidate running for the highest office in the state replied, he would.

Vermont Candidates Weigh in on Legalization – With two Democratic candidates supporting a bill that would legalize recreational marijuana in the legislature, and two Republican candidates in staunch opposition to it … there is a good chance the marijuana legalization topic could very well decide who will be the next governor of the Green Mountain State. While both candidates from the Republican side of the aisle oppose the legislation, and the Lt. Governor claims there’s no reason for Vermont to rush into legalization, the two candidates battling to be the next governor counter that legalizing marijuana provides the state an “opportunity” to tax, regulate, and control what is otherwise illegal revenue for the black market.

DEA fires off Tweet on the procedure for rescheduling marijuana – Hopefully feeling the pressure and definitely behind the societal curve, the DEA took to Twitter yesterday afternoon, asking those curious about the process of rescheduling marijuana to learn more about the convoluted obstacles. While they explained the purpose of the Controlled Substance Act and identified the different Schedules and where each narcotic falls within them, they neglect to explain how the federal government maintains a patent on marijuana’s medicinal cannabinoids, while claiming that cannabis has no medicinal value.

David vs. Goliath: Denver Starbuds vs. Urban Renewal – Starbuds’ pot shop, located in the northeastern section of Denver, has just been denied the renewal of their cultivation license. Apparently, the dispensary interferes with a “new aspirational neighborhood plan,” boisterous concerns came from the president and CEO of the National Western Stock Show, and those supporting the $1.1 billion National Western Conference Center Project.

As June 2016 rapidly comes to a blazing hot finale, the 420 community understands that legalization is purely a matter of political muscle. By casting our ballots for marijuana reform and those who supported it, we can slowly drag our politicians and their policy into the 21st century.
