Eating foods containing marijuana can be a new experience even for active smokers. Recipes with cannabis in them are the best solution for those who don’t smoke or those who use it for medical purposes. The preparation for weed to be used in recipes involves some heating for proper digestion. This process is called decarboxylation and its main purpose is to make the cannabis psychoactive. Fat oil should also be used during cooking to enhance solubility. This applies to all recipes, whether vegan or non vegan. The following are two simplified examples of recipes with cannabis:
Ingredients
1 Cup cannabutter
1 teaspoon Nutmeg
1 tablespoon Cinnamon
2 cups All-Purpose Flour
1 cups Light Brown Sugar
1 cups Steel Cut Oats
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
2-3 tablespoon Bourbon Vanilla
2 Eggs
2 cups Pecans, Chopped
1 cup Currants, Organic
1 cup Dried Cranberries, Organic
Directions
First sift together the dry ingredients, except for the steel cut oats and put aside. Cream the sugars and Cannabutter together and add bourbon vanilla and mix with eggs. The butter and sugar should not be overworked to avoid them breaking down. Mix dry ingredients with wet ingredients until they are well mixed. Use a heavy spoon to mix in oats and then blend. Take the resulting mixture and fold in the pecans, currants, and dried cranberries. Chill the batter and use an ice scream scooper to drop dough the mixture onto a greased baking pan at 350 degrees. Let it cook for 15-17 minutes.
Cannabutter
Ingredients
ounce cannabis (ground or raw)
1 cup butter
2 cups water
Directions
Add butter and water to a saucepan over medium heat. Ensure that there is enough water to create a layer between the bottom of the pan and the butter. Add cannabis to pan and mix thoroughly. Simmer the mixture on low heat for 4 hours and stir occasionally to prevent scorching. Reduce the heat if the mixture starts to boil. Allow the pan to cool and strain through cheese cloth into bowl. Place the mixture in a fridge overnight for the butter to separate from the water and to allow it to rise to the top. Remove from fridge once the butter has risen to the top. Finally, peel off the chunks with a knife and place it in a separate container.
