Smoking their previous record for monthly marijuana sales, the Colorado Department of Revenue is reporting they sold a staggering amount of recreational marijuana for the month of August.
Extinguishing their previous July 2016 record of $122.67 M of sold Colorado chronic, pot shops in the Centennial State legally sold $126 million worth of state-sanctioned weed for the month of August.
Per the CO Department of Revenue, the total August marijuana sales for the State of Colorado skyrocketed on a year-over-year basis, jumping from $59.2 million in recreational pot sales and an additional $41.4 million in medical marijuana revenue for 2015.
Earned in August and remitted in September, a total of $18,261,391 is earmarked for distribution to Colorado’s public schools and local governments.
