Told he “unreasonably disturbs others” due to his tenacious marijuana odor, Matthew Little of Kitsap, Washington has been banned from riding public transportation for the next six months.
Saturated with the fragrance of his favorite medicinal plant, Mr. Little apparently upset those passengers who were a little more accustomed the aroma of the industrialized world and the noxious bouquet of diesel fuel mixed with humanity.
According to Washington’s KIRO 7, the powerful marijuana aroma became an issue when “the driver began to choke and had to cover her nose.”
With few alternatives to public transportation and having ignored the first three warnings issued by Washington State’s Kitsap transit, Little strongly disagrees with their current rationale and argues his ban will adversely affect his health.
“I have a spine condition. If I didn’t consume as much medical marijuana as I do, I would be consuming a great deal more narcotics than I am.”
Explaining his sticky situation with Kitsap’s public transportation, little noted:
“I rely on the buses. I got three hours invested in this. Somewhere along the line, I’m going to smoke a bowl or a spliff.”
A medical marijuana activist who suffers from a degenerative spine condition, Little believes there are far more offensive odors lingering on the average bus.
“I do take offense that someone would be offended by that,” Little explained. “I shave and shower every day, I put on some Karl Lagerfeld cologne, I put on clean clothes. If I happen to have medicated recently – so be it.”
Claiming pot hating “rednecks” with a “reefer madness” mindset are upset with marijuana reform and those who consume it, Mr. Little offers this advice to his one-time fellow bus riders.
“Mind your own business and grow up.”
Indeed. With marijuana now perfectly legal in the State of Washington, riders are going to have to learn to tolerate sharing their airspace with those who medicate before stepping out, and onto public transportation.
