Further elevating Jamaica’s Marijuana / Marley connection for the vacationing masses, the Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA) is looking to increase accessibility to medicinal Ganja on the tiny island nation.

Cultivating policies and procedures for the installation of cannabis kiosks at Jamaica’s three international airports (Kingston, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios), plus their highly lucrative seaports, the CLA is hoping to make it much easier for reggae fans and vacationers alike to score their reciprocal Jamaican MMJ license as soon as they arrive – permitting those inclined to legally buy up to 2 Oz. of Jamaican herb for blazing away while on their tropical vacation.

According to The Gleaner:

“If the Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA) has its way, Jamaica’s air- and seaports will have kiosks or dedicated desks where visitors can pick up a license to sample some of the ‘good herb’ to enhance their island experience.”

Demonstrating an official acknowledgment of the island’s main attraction, Bob and weed, the CLA’s potentially lucrative plan would permit medical marijuana card kiosks inside all airports and seaports. Allowing the 420-traveler with a medical marijuana license in their home state to grab their reciprocal MMJ recommendation as soon as they step foot off the plane or ship.

Highlighting their intention, the CLA’s Chairman Hyacinth Lightbourne informed the Jamaica Gleaner:

“It would primarily be for people who have a prescription and, in effect, you’re doing it for medicinal purposes with a permit from the Ministry of Health. If they don’t have a prescription, then they can do what we call ‘self-declare’, and this will allow them to have the two ounces while they are here.”

Initially signing their landmark legislation on Bob’s 70-birthday, Jamaica officially decriminalized marijuana possession in 2015. Thanks to Bob, and the recent passage of this progressive legislation, Jamaicans can now legally grow up to five plants for personal consumption without fear of “Sheriff John Brown.”
